i was always a little daddy’s girl growing up. although we didn’t talk much, i spent all my time with my dad; i went everywhere with him. one of my favorite memories growing up, for some reason, was checking out model homes around the area with my dad.
we were always going place to place checking out new homes built near us as the newer part of scripps was still developing. my dad was always looking to see houses we could move to, but i knew we were never really going to leave our home. as a kid, i’d wander through the house, going room to room, yelling for my dad that i wanted this room and that room. i didn’t really realize back then that all the furniture and cool kid stuff wouldn’t be there if we moved in.
now, as i browse through pinterest and tumblr, i’m beginning to realize how much i’m growing up, and one of these days i’ll be looking for my own home, and decorating it and all. i can’t wait!
Caine’s Arcade
A 9 year old boy - who built an elaborate cardboard arcade inside his dad’s used auto part store - is about to have the best day of his life.

So far one of my fav DIY projects, it was pretty easy!
I purchased 3 12x12 canvases (gotta be square…haha!), painted them with Martha Stewart paints (spring pasture, purple yam, and pond). I found outlines of each state online, printed them, cut them out with an xacto knife, and traced them with a pencil onto the canvas. Next, I filled in the states with white paint (wedding cake), once it was dry I painted a red heart (tartan red) where B is from, where I am from, and where we currently live!:)
